Primary Care 24 is a social enterprise delivering NHS services across Liverpool, Sefton, Halton, Southport, Formby and Warrington.
We provide a variety of primary care, urgent care and intermediate care services across our regions. This includes GP practices, GP out-of-hours services, an asylum medical assessment service, and intermediate care facilities.

Where are PC24 GP Practices located?
We manage the following GP practices in Liverpool and Sefton:
- 15 Sefton Road – Primary Care 24 15 Sefton Road is located in Litherland (L21 9HA). 15 Sefton Road may be suitable for patients looking for a Litherland doctors’ surgery, as they are currently accepting new patients.
- North Park Health Centre – Primary Care 24 North Park is located in the Bootle/Litherland area and may be suitable for patients looking for a Litherland doctors’ surgery or a Bootle doctors’ surgery.
- Maghull Practice – Primary Care 24 Maghull is located on Westway (L31 0DJ).
- Hightown Village Surgery – Primary Care 24 Hightown is located directly next to Hightown train station (L38 3RY).

How do I access out of hours doctors near me?
We are often asked by patients “Is there a call out doctor near me?” and the short answer is yes, there are several. We operate an out of hours GP service. This means our clinicians are on hand to assist patients, either over the phone or in person (depending on the patient’s symptoms and abilities).
Not all GP out of hours Liverpool operate through Primary Care 24, but we are one of the key care providers in the Liverpool and Sefton region providing care outside of normal office hours.
Can I access 24-hour primary care near me?
If you are in need of 24-hour medical help, there are several options available to you, including:
- Ringing NHS 111 or visiting nhs.uk
- Pharmacy First – pharmacies in the UK are now able to assist patients with a variety of minor illnesses and ailments
- Walk-in (urgent care) centres – you can access urgent care in Liverpool without an appointment
- A&E departments for serious and life-threatening situations

The quickest and easiest way to request a fit note is to do so online. Visit your specific GP practice’s website, and on the homepage you will find a ‘Request a fit note’ button.
You can also use this method as an alternative to your NHS App for other services, such as ordering repeat prescriptions and registering at a GP practice.
