About us

Primary Care 24 is a Social Enterprise, delivering a range of Urgent and Primary care services to just over 1.3 million people across Halton, Liverpool Knowsley, St Helens, South Sefton, Southport and Formby and Warrington.

Who we are

Primary Care 24 (PC24) is a not-for-profit social enterprise established in 1990, delivering NHS contracts exclusively.

The majority of our surplus is reinvested in patients and staff. We believe that primary healthcare should be accessible for everyone and are committed to delivering the best quality care we can, challenging social exclusion and working locally, where and when we can, to support our communities. We combine the best of the NHS with social enterprise innovation, developing solutions for NHS primary care and caring for our clinicians so that they can, in turn, care for our patients.

Our Mission

To deliver the best quality healthcare to the population we serve, by being the employer of choice in 24-hour Primary Care.

Our values define who we are, what we believe, how we will work and the way that we want our patients to describe the experience they receive. In order to ensure we chose values that were important to all staff, we completed a series of engagement activities, ultimately asking staff to vote on the ones that most reflected what they saw was important. We keep them visible through our branding and this reminds our staff and our patients every day what is important to us at PC24.
