Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

We’ve put together a list of FAQs that we hope will help you in your application and onboarding experience.

Do all roles require a DBS?

Yes, the majority of our roles require a DBS. If you are part of the update service, we can do an update check. If you are not, we will arrange a DBS check for you and cover the cost.

What does ‘the bank’ mean?

Joining ‘the bank’ means that you will have access to our rota, with which you can bid for available shifts that suit your availability.

This gives you great flexibility around your main job, childcare, or any other commitments you may have – just check the operational hours on the job advert to make sure they suit you!

As a clinician, do I have to have all my mandatory training to be able to apply?

No, you can still apply.

If you have completed the mandatory training, you can send us evidence of this when we are at the on-boarding stage. If you don’t have the evidence, we will set you up an account on our training platform so you can complete it before you start.

Do I have to upload a CV as part of my application?

Yes, and please make sure you highlight all your relevant skills and experience for the role.

Our clinical roles can be specific, so please tell us about your clinical experience so that your CV stands out

Does my telephone interview have to be via Microsoft Teams?

No, we are happy to work around you. If Microsoft Teams suits you, we will do it that way, or if you would prefer us to call your mobile, just let us know when we book you in!

Are all final interviews face-to-face in your Head Office?

We would love for you to come in and see where you will be working, meet the team and get a feel for PC24. Some interviews may be based in the site you may be working at, depending on the role.

If an unavoidable situation arises, we may be able to look at a Microsoft Teams interview.

If I am successful, do I have to stick to a set start date?

No, not always, we will work around you and your notice period.

A member of our friendly Talent Team will be on hand to help and guide you through your onboarding. Once you are compliant, we will then arrange your start date.

Are you the NHS?

No, we are a social enterprise. We support the NHS.

We still offer some great benefits such as the NHS pension, access to a blue light card, 27 days annual leave (previous NHS service is considered), and you can view more about our benefits here. We don’t follow agenda for change and have our own salary bands.

Will I get a uniform?

Yes, if your role requires a uniform, and we will arrange this for you.

Is PC24 an agency?

No, we are not an agency. If you apply for a role with us, you will either have a salaried or a bank position.
