Liverpool Community Alcohol Service (LCAS)

The Liverpool Community Alcohol Service (LCAS) works in local communities across Liverpool. Around 75 clinics are held each week at easily accessible sites such as GP surgeries. You can ask your GP or any other health or social care professional you are involved with to refer you into services or you can self refer. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. Sunflowers

Providing emotional support to people who have been affected by cancer, offering a variety of services including cancer specific groups, complimentary therapies, counselling, one to one work and welfare benefits advice. Tai chi and the ‘feel good factor’ a programme consisting of art and music therapy and creative writing, have been introduced recently. Cancer Care Map is an online resource to help people living with cancer find care and support services in their local area, anywhere in the UK. You can find more support and information on their website.

A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems. Caring for someone can have a significant impact on a person’s physical, emotional and social wellbeing. If you are a carer please let your GP Practice know as this helps us to support you and signpost you to further resources:

GamCare offers free support and treatment for anyone affected. They offer numerous resources, including online courses, chatrooms, and also run the National gambling helpline. The Life Rooms

The Life Rooms support service offers a telephone and email support service. The service is available Monday-Friday 9.30am-4.30pm. The advisors are available to chat and offer signposting advice in areas such as:

Shout 85258 is a free, confidential, 24/7 text message support service for children and young people who are feeling overwhelmed or struggling to cope. The service is staffed by trained volunteers who will work with you to take your next steps towards feeling better. They can help with issues such as stress, anxiety and depression and are there to talk at any time of day or night.
